Great ideas are often created from the unexpected, that is how Mayeya Foods Corporation was born.
Founder of Mayeya Foods, Mari Rubi, awoke from a dream one night to the word "Guayaba". Thinking nothing of it, she fell back asleep. The next morning, she remembered what had occurred and started writing a plan. Not sure where this would take her. All she could think about was "Cuban pastelitos". At that moment she had no idea if there was even a demand for pastelitos. After rigorous research, Mari found that there is a high demand for Cuban pastries all across the United States.

In Miami Lakes, Florida where Mari resides, bakeries are as common as skyscraper's in New York City. Have a craving for a fresh Cuban "pastelito",just drop at any other corner around town. But many travelers who visit Miami claim that once they leave, they have a hard time finding these Cuban delicacies. When in Miami, they purchase boxes and boxes of pastelitos to take home with them.

There is no better alternative to Mari's frozen Cuban pastries when your craving for these "pastelitos" is unattainable. Building a company takes a lot of hard work. Mari was fortunate to find a partner (Clara Gomez) that shared the same passion and with lots of hard work, determination and love, they were able to make their dream come true. Mari and Clara are proud to bring their Cuban pastries to supermarkets across the nation, which in return will, hopefully, bring warmth and love into every household.
